US TELEVISION  PREMIERE FOR SUSPENSE THRILLER 

“POUND  OF FLESH” 
 

Writer-Director  Tamar Simon Hoffs' “Pound of  Flesh”, starring Malcolm 
McDowell, begins airing on  SHOWTIME Saturday October 8th, 12 Midnight 
Los Angeles, CA  - Hoffs' sexy suspense thriller "Pound of Flesh" starring 
Malcolm  McDowell (“A Clockwork  Orange”), Angus Macfadyen (“Braveheart”), 
Tony Award nominee  Elizabeth Rodriguez, Timothy Bottoms (“The Last Picture
Show”) and Dee  Wallace (“E.T.”).  Based on true  events, the film follows 
Noah  Melville (Malcolm McDowell), popular Shakespeare professor and 
confirmed  sensualist, who provides scholarships for gorgeous college girls by 
running an escort service whose satisfied clients include chairman of the 
college’s board, the chief of police, and even the mayor of their idyllic 
college town.  But when a young woman  turns up dead near campus, Melville’s 
life comes crashing  down.

About the events  that inspired the film says Hoffs “In 1986, I read about 
a sex work  scandal at a highly regarded Ivy League university, and it 
grabbed me as a  gripping, reality-based story.  Further research indicated that 
sex  work to fund an education is nothing new, and is currently reaching 
epidemic proportions.” 

Winner of the  award for Best Drama at the 2011 Sacramento International 
Film Festival,  “Pound of Flesh” was also  an Official Closing Film  of the 
Oldenburg International Film  Festival, and the Officail Selection of the 
Hollywood, San Luis Obispo,  USA/Dallas, and Newport Beach Film Festivals.

and Newport Beach Film Festival 2011. "Pound of Flesh" received its US Premiere at 
the Hollywood Film Festival with Malcolm McDowell and a host of stars in attendance.

POUND OF FLESH WORLD PREMIERE AT OLDENBURG INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IN GERMANY

POUND OF FLESH celebrated its WORLD  PREMIERE at the 17th Oldenburg International Film Festival, Germany, September 15 - 19, 2010 
with a hugely successful screening that witnessed standing room only at the venue. 

"After eventful festival days with eight world premieres, 17 German premieres, seven international premieres and five European premieres, the 17th International Film Festival Oldenburg celebrated its crowning finale on Sunday, September 19, with the world premiere of POUND OF FLESH in the presence of director Tamar Simon Hoffs as well as the actors Timothy Bottoms and Whitney Able." - Karsten Kastelan, Correspondent, Berlin - THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

Labelled the "German Sundance" by the trade (The Hollywood  Reporter),  the Oldenburg Film Festival has fostered its success as a festival with a strong commitment to independent films. The primetime  nationwide TV-newsmagazine Tagesschau stated, that Oldenburg "is one of the most  important European festivals for independent cinema" and the Cannes Market  News confirmed: "Oldenburg, The German Sundance, has become a must on the  festival  circuit."

Timothy Bottoms, who plays Cameron Morris in Pound of Flesh, received a Tribute at the Oldenburg festival with a retrospective that included such films as
